I read a Charles Bukowski quote months ago in the European skate mag Kingpin that i was hyped on. Then the mag dissappeared in the sea of mags and mail we have here at Just. Recently I’ve found it.

Style is the answer to everything.
A fresh way to approach a dull or dangerous thing.
To do a dull thing with style is preferable to doing a dangerous thing without style.
To do a dangerous thing with style, is what i call art.
Bullfighting can be an art.
Boxing can be an art.
Loving can be an art.
Opening a can of sardines can be an art.
Not many have style.
Not many can keep style.
I have seen dogs with more style than men.
Although not many dogs have style.
Cats have it with abundance.

When Hemingway put his brains to the wall with a shotgun, that was style.
For sometimes people give you style.
Joan of Arc had style.
John the Baptist.
Christ.
Socrates.
Caesar.
Garcia Lorca.
I have met men in jail with style.
I have met more men in jail with style than men out of jail.
Style is a difference, a way of doing, a way of being done.
Six herons standing quietly in a pool of water, or you, walking out of the bathroom without seeing me.

How can you not trust a face like this?

I want to create something that is a homage to the last 10 years of Just graphics. If you have ever created a graphic for Just, or know someone who did, if you can send along the graphic again to this e-mail address I would love to include your work in the collection. I’m in the process of searching for all that I can get my hands on. Searching drives and going through old CDs, but I need your help. Please help me make this happen. Yeahhh!

I was just reading the Dune Timeline in the mag. I also was talking to someone on myspace about Chris in reply to his post. It went something like this “I didnt know this until today. Stereo Sound Agency Skateboards is owned and operated by Jason Lee & Chris Pastras.”

I responded to him with”You should look up Jason Lee Blind video “Video Days” i’m thinking 1990-91ish. end part, so good. known for his fantastic 3 flips and backside kickflips. The Knife song in his part done by a band named Milk is a hard to find classic skate tune. And Chris Pastras, thats Dune, Dune…, art skateboarder, history and style. Stereo is some ligit dudes, for sure. ”
